Adaptor for halogen lamp for use in standard light fitting

The adaptor device includes a base (1) which is a standard bayonet or screw fitting and has three cut-away spurs which are sunk into the moulding (6) of the adaptor. A rigid metal conductor is soldered at one end to the spurs and the other is soldered to a female banana plug to form the neutral. A second conducting element carries the live from within the base to a second female plug through a hole in the base. Male banana plugs (5) connect the lamp to the adapter (6) and asbestos board may be added to protect the adapter from the heat. The support (7) for the lamp has holes (10) to fix it to the adapter and may receive a reflector (8).
