The optimisation process entails NCB combinations of NFR possible pulse repetition frequencies (PRFs) (R1). A test ground zone, assumed known is entered into the calculation in quantum strips. For each PRF set, there will be areas where the ground return may obscure the target. In a second step (R2) the number of detections for that PRF are calculated over the strip, with the results recorded as a vector set (R3), and a factor assigned to the combination step (R4) which is then compared with previous PRF combinations, and following the iterative process the optimum condition chosen.
