Electrophotographic display unit for laser-generated images

An image carrier is coupled to a pulse generator which produces pulses synchronised with the image carrier drive to indicate the position of the carrier. Pref. the pulses are used to control the position in which the image carrier is stopped. A band of photosensitive material is driven on rollers and a laser and developer produce a display image on a section of the band visible through a viewing window. The pulses are counted and used to control the band drive so that a complete image always appears in the window, so that the joint in the band is never visible.
