The entry to the concave (3) can be closed off from below either in part or totally by flaps (9,10) which are joined to axis (11,12) so as to swing into a number of settings. The two end parts of the axes are laid in openings (27,28) in the concave frame (4). The openings are closed off at one end by the screen (5). The opening can be replaced by a U-shaped support for the axes if required and any number of flaps can be used arranged in sequence in the crop transit sense. The flaps are joined via adapters to an adjuster composed of an adjusting lever (22) which can be allocated to these and are joined by respective ropes (13).
