The control circuit comprises an electronic circuit board with an earth connection wire (1) and an output terminal (2) connected to the motor. An input terminal (3) is connected to the mains. The board carries power reduction capacitors (4), a triac (5) and a protection fuse (6). The board is protected by a plastic box which allows only a metal plate to be exposed. This is to be touched by the user's hand in order to provide control of the fan. The fan may operate at medium speed, high speed or be turned off.
