The reinforcement element incorporates a box-like structural body (2) which has a rear wall (10) and two side walls (11,12) which together make up a U-shaped profile. The front wall (3) creates a closed rectangular cross-sectional profile. The front wall has seams (4) along its longitudinal edges and similarly formed seams (5) are incorporated in the structural body. The structural body has a burl (13) which forms an air permeable opening passing into the interior of the body.
