The rev regulation system has each of 2 rev regulated machines (P1,P2) driven via a respective shaft of a planetary gearing (PVG) with a third shaft determining the rotation rate. When both machines are provided by pumps, a throttle (DVD) associated with one of the pumps is used for regulating the difference between their rotation rates and in the case of 2 electrical generators the rotation ratio between them is varied by controlling at least one of the energising currents.
