<p>A mechanical sphincter for controlling urinary incontinence and its implantation method, said sphincter (1) comprising a semi-annular piece (2) with a spring effect, in whose free ends are affixed two strips or screens (3), made of porous anti-adherent material and parallely disposed to each other, the fixation between said screens and said semi-annular piece being effected by stitches of an adequate adhesive or any other type of fixing means. Said sphincter (1) is implanted in the patient's urethra (u), said strips or screens (3) surrounding and exerting permanent pressure around said urethra, thus avoiding the involuntary emission of urine.</p> |
