The invention pertains to the creation of permanent joints, specifically to light-beam soldering, and to a device for light-beam soldering and welding. The device in question comprises: a reflector consisting of two main elements with a reflecting surface in the form of an ellipsoid section and an auxiliary element mounted between the two main elements; and a gas-discharge light source mounted at one of the reflector's foci. The auxiliary element has a reflecting surface in the form of an ellipsoid section and its foci are situated on the reflector axis within the inter-electrode gap in the gas-discharge light source. One focus of the auxiliary element is collocated with the reflector's radiating focus while the other is located close to one of the light source electrodes.
