PRODUCTION OF PHENOL SMC

PURPOSE: To produce phenol SMC with high production efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A phenol resin compsn. containing a resole type phenol resin liquid at the normal temp. and a thickner is applied to a carrier film and glass fibers are added thereto to be impregnated with the phenol resin compsn. and the impregnated glass film layer is aged to produce phenol SMC. As the thickner, porous magnesium oxide with activity of 130-170 is used and the content of magnesium oxide is 1-10 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the resole type phenol resin.
