PURPOSE: To obtain an immunopotentiator useful for nutrient foods and medicines from a whey protein concentrate. CONSTITUTION: This immunopotentiator is obtained by treating a whey protein concentrate by a column chromatography, providing a fraction rich in a glycomacropeptide and further treating the resultant fraction by gel filtration and then ion exchange chromatography and has the following physicochemical properties: (1) <=25,000 molecular weight, (2) having mitogen activities, (3) having reactivity toward lectin and (4) containing phosphorus. |
