Protection of plastic pipe serving gas meter

A metal jacket (2) penetrates the base plate (3) and extends into the installation space (4). Through it is passed the plastic gas pipe (5). A sliding collar (6) of e.g. synthetic rubber is clamped inside the jacket. A protective pipe (7) made of metal or tough plastic is inserted into the collar (6). Ribs (8) in the collar (6) ensure that the pipe (7) is held firmly by friction. The pipe (7) reaches the coupling (11) to the gas meter. It can be advantageous to fit a collar (9), which locks into grooves (10) in the top of the protective pipe.
