PURPOSE: To reduce metallic noise generated at the time when two gears are engaged with each other by applying a metallic base compound material containing particulates of a solid lubricant on a surface of a tooth part of a metallic gear. CONSTITUTION: A metallic base compound material 12 containing particulates of a solid lubricant is applied on a whole surface of a tooth part 11 of a metallic gear 10. The metallic gear 10 is covered with a roughly shaped material of carbon steel (S45C) on a surface of the tooth part of the metallic gear 10 equivalent to a gear precision 5 class hobbing worked after cutting work and with a nickel base compound material (metallic base compound material 12) containing 23 volume % of particulates of PTFC (fluororesin) having a solid lubricating function by a plating method. Thereafter, heat treatment is applied to this gear (300 deg.C, one hour). At the time when two metallic gears are rotated while being engaged with each other, these covering materials become a cushion. Additionally, the covering materials become conformable and gradually tooth contact improves. Consequently, it is possible to reduce uncomfortable metallic noise generated at the time when the gears are engaged with each other. |
