A silver halide color photographic material which comprises a support having thereon at least one layer containing at least one compound represented by the following general formulaR1-SO2NH2wherein R1 represents an unsubstituted aliphatic group having 6 or more carbon atoms, an unsubstituted aryl group or an aryl group substituted by at least one substituent selected from the group consisting of an aliphatic group, an aryloxy group, a carbamoyl group, an acylamino group, an aliphatic oxycarbonyl group, an arylcarbonyl group and a halogen atom, provided that R1 does not contain any coupler residue.
