<p>PURPOSE: To reproduce a filter and reduce fuel consumption by calculating additional fuel for removing black smoke of an exhaust filter of an internal combustion engine based on a exhaust gas temperature and one of suction air quantity of an engine and an engine revolving speed, and correcting it with a combustion gas temperature at downstream of an oxidation catalyst. CONSTITUTION: A controller 5 receives an engine revolving speed from a signal line 6, an exhaust gas temperature from a signal line 7, and a fuel combustion temperature from a signal line 8 respectively, calculates an additional fuel quantity from them, and sends a control signal on a signal line 9 to a fuel adding mechanism 4 to control it. A basic additional fuel quantity may be calculated from a suction air quantity and exhaust gas temperature, and a correction quantity is calculated from an average value of the fuel temperature in the previous cycle. The fuel adding mechanism 4 adds the additional fuel quantity into exhaust gas, and fuel vaporized at the exhaust gas temperature is burned by an oxidation catalyst 2. When the combustion temperature becomes a black smoke ignition temperature or above, black smoke in a filter 3 installed downstream is burned and removed.</p> |
