PURPOSE: To provide manufacture of a welded pipe whereby thin walled pipe, especially extremely thin walled pipe is able to be manufactured. CONSTITUTION: At least two means 11, 13 for restraining the welded pipe after butt welding are provided at downstream from a squeeze roll 6 and only pass line height Hg of the means for restraining the pipe at upstream is provided lower than pass line height Hf of the reference pass line height, that is, an end fin pass roll 5B. On the one hand, the squeeze roll 6 is arranged at the position wherein distance J from the end fin pass roll satisfies a certain condition and the pass line height Hs and an inclined angleθare adjusted and set so as to run along a shape of metal strip H settled by the two means for restraining the pipe and the end fin pass roll 5B.
