PURPOSE: To be able to accurately set a sheet by being capable of separating all sheet conveying rollers from a sheet conveying passage or bringing them into contact with the passage by the operation of one sheet set lever. CONSTITUTION: A sheet set lever 80 is released from a locking state when a carriage 20 mounted with a recording head 22 is moved to a home position and locked to a set position in the state that the carriage 20 is released from the home position. When the lever 80 is oscillated in the set releasing direction in the state that the lever 80 is unlocked, press rollers 30, 40 in contact with a main roller 2 and a spur-like roller 76 in contact with a subroller 14 are separated at a predetermined interval from the corresponding rollers 2 and 14, and it becomes the state that the sheet can be manually inserted into the sheet conveying passage.
