PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool a turbine with air or steam by providing a storage tank for feeding a cooling medium on a rotor, and a plurality of passages passing through rims of spacer discs and wheels so as to be communicated with the storage tank to feed the cooling medium. SOLUTION: A crossing disc 76 and an end disc 78 are arranged at both ends of a turbine rotor, a cooling feed disc module 80 is arranged between the end disc 78 and a fourth stage wheel 44. Annular voids 84, 86 are formed between both ends of spacer discs 39, 41, 43 and adjacent wheels. An annular passage 94 is formed between an outer shaft 90 and an inner shaft 92, and a housing 95 forming the immobile part of a turbine constitutes an annular high pressure chamber 96 around the outer shaft 90. The high pressure chamber 96 serves as a storage tank for a cooling medium flowing to the passage 94 and a rear side annular high pressure chamber 100. A cooling medium fed to the high pressure chamber 96 can be steam or air as occasion demands. A plurality of passages 102 circumferentially spaced from each other communicate the rear side high pressure chamber 100 with the rearmost void 86.
