<p>PURPOSE: To obtain an aqueous ink composition excellent in drying resistance at the pen tip of the writing tool and having a good writing quality by compounding a coloring agent and water with p-xylene glycol as an anti-drying agent. CONSTITUTION: An aqueous ink composition comprises a coloring agent, water and p-xylene glycol. The coloring agent and the p-xylene glycol are preferably used in amounts of 0.1-40wt.% and 0.5-50 pts.wt., respectively, based on the whole amount of the ink. A dyestuff or pigment for conventional aqueous inks can be used as the coloring agent, but when the pigment is used as the coloring agent, a dispersant such as a nonionic surfactant is preferably simultaneously used. An antimicrobial agent such as sodium benzoate, a pH-controlling agent such as triethanolamine, an anti-corrosive agent, etc., may further be added.</p> |
