PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high density image by preventing the deterioration of the dimensional stability of an image caused by the thermal deformation of an image forming material by heating at the time of development. SOLUTION: A coating soln. containing an ammonia or amine coordinated trivalent cobalt complex, a compd. discolored by ammonia or amine and a reducing compd. capable of reducing the trivalent cobalt complex to a divalent cobalt complex by light or heat energy is applied to a support composed of a thermoplastic resin with a glass transition temp. (Tg) of 80 deg.C or higher and the coated support is dried to form an image forming layer.
