An electron gun for a color television set which improves the resolution of the image. The electron gun has a triple-pole electrode having cathodes, controlling electrodes and accelerating electrodes; focus electrodes and lens electrodes imbedded in a pair of bead glass; a first focus electrode(4~1); a second focus electrode(4~2); vertical electrode pieces(22,23) protudedly formed around a beam aperture of the first focus electrode(4~1); horizontal electrode pieces(25) inwardly formed at the second focus electrode(4~2); and a quadra-pole lens having a plate-like shape. The lengths of the electrode pieces(22,23) around the beam aperture(4b) of the first focus electrode(4~1) are different from those of both sides electrode pieces(21,24).
