PURPOSE: To provide a smoke exhaust apparatus wherein an external appearance when it is not used is improved, and a hood structure is held at an arbitrary stop position without use of a specific mechanism to simplify a structure. CONSTITUTION: This smoke exhaust apparatus is provided with a body part 12 including a smoke exhaust hole 20 and an accomodation cover 16. A hood structure 13 is provided including a suction hole 22. An elevation mechanism 14 is provided for elevating the hood structure 13 with respect to the body part 12. An expansion structure 15 is provided which communicates the smoke exhaust hole 20 in the body part 12 and the suction hole 22 in the hood structure 13 with each other and which is accomodated inside the accomodation cover 16 when the hood structure 13 is elevated. The elevation mechanism 14 includes cables 29a, 29b for suspending the hood structure 13, reels 30a, 30b for winding up the cables 29a, 29b thereon, and a worm gear 35 for transmitting torque from a drive shaft 34 to the reels 30a, 30b. When the apparatus is not used, the expansion structure 15 can be accomodated inside the accomodation cover 16 to improve an external appearance of the apparatus. The hood structure 13 can be held at an optional stop position with the worm gear 15. |
