The device has a pair of stable rigid arms, of which one (3) is fixed, and the other (4) pivoted. The arms extend through a neck flange (2), which connects head (1) and body of the doll. Within the body, the arms are held at distance by a spring (5). The fixed arm section in the head has a pivot axis (6), and a pair of cranked levers (7,8) are pivoted about the same axis. The levers each have a slot (9,10), and a peg (11) on another lever (12) passes through the slots. This lever is associated with the moveable arm, so that a pressure applied manually to one part of the body, pivots the arm, so that the cranked lever ends move towards each other. Pegs (15,16) on the ends connect the levers to the wall (14) around the eyes, or to the doll's eyelids.
