FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: design of engine provides increase in piston speed up to 100 m/s and, consequently, 6-fold increase in engine power rating, improves balancing of pistons, thus providing 10-12-fold increase in engine service life and increase in efficiency up to 0.94 owing to the fact that tangential loads acting on engine pistons are excluded. Use of two integrated pistons connected by rod and operating simultaneously in six cylinders, of which four cylinders are working and two cylinders are air ones, provides two-fold increase in working strokes and, 12-fold increase in engine power output. Integrated pistons ensure prolonged expansion and prolonged after-burning of exhaust gases. Opposite engines improve stability of vehicle owing to lowering of center of gravity of most heavy-weight unit and facilitate maintenance and repair of engines. As engine piston speed is high, use of desmodromic timing mechanism or fuel injection system is recommended. EFFECT: increased engine power output, efficiency and service life, higher economy, reduced operating noises, simple design, ease of manufacture and servicing, no pollution of ambient atmosphere. |
