PURPOSE: To enable the optical transmission of a high frequency signal through a signal optical transmission line and to suppress the phase fluctuation and an output high frequency electric signal in a system for superimposing the high frequency signal on an optical signal and transmitting the signal. CONSTITUTION: The output light beams of a coherent light source 101 are branched into two beams, one light beams are connected to a means 104 for superimposing the high frequency electric signal on an optical by a high frequency electric signal, and inputted to a means 108a for performing polarization or polarized multiplexing to another output light beams and the output of the means 104 for superimposing the high frequency electric signal on the optical wave so as to be passed through one path in the state of polarization in which those outputs are made orthogonal, the change of polarized light is applied by inputting the output of the means 108a to an optical member 113 having birefringence for varying a refraction factor, the output of the optical member 113 is connected to a means 109 for converting the optical signal to the electric signal through a means 114 for transmitting only the specified polarized component and a high frequency electric signal 110 is extracted. |
