PURPOSE: To obtain a reversible optical information recording medium and a recording and erasing method in which recording is possible in the same polarity as that for an usual optical disk and high recording contrast and high erasing ratio can be obtd., by forming a recording layer essentially comprising a phthalocyanine compd. and a thermoplastic polymer compd. having compatibility with the phthalocyanine compd. CONSTITUTION: The recording layer formed essentially consists of a specified phthalocyanine compd. expressed by general formula (I) and a thermoplastic polymer compd. having compatibility with the phthalocyanine compd., or such a polymer compd. that has compatibility with the phthalocyanine compd. and causes reversibly electronic or structural changes by optical or thermal energy. By the obtd. medium and the recording and erasing method, excellent stability for repetition of use and storage can be obtd., recording and reproducing can be performed same as for a conventional optical disk, and high reflectance, high recording contrast and high erasing ratio can be obtd. |
