PURPOSE: To make the connected end surfaces of an optical element and optical parts for connection parallel with each other and to highly accurately perform aligning these surfaces in an optical axis rotational direction by bringing these connected end surfaces close to each other by giving a desired inclined angle the arranging surface of an arranging table for giving the same angle the connected end surface. CONSTITUTION: Each of an optical waveguide type device 3 and a connection optical member 1 is polished by a desired angleαagainst an optical axis and thereby a reflected returning light in a connected part is prevented. The optical wavegiude type device 3 thus constructed is placed on an arranging base 7a placed and fixed on the stage 8a of x, y and z axes. The connection optical member 7b is arranged on an arranging base 7b placed and fixed on the stage 8b of x, y, z andθaxes. Each of the arranging bases 7a and 7b has the same inclination angle as the desired angleαformed in the connection section between the connection optical member 1 and the optical waveguide device 3. Thus, even when the connected end surfaces are brought close to each other, a moving range in the optical axis rotational direction is not limited.
