PURPOSE: To improve the of gradation balance caused by the reduction of color development time by specifying the gradation of yellow, magenta, and cyan colors obtained by 2 kinds of developing processings. CONSTITUTION: The gradations of the yellow, magenta, and cyan colors obtained by the 2 kinds of development processings A' and B' different from each other in a developing time are allowed to satisfy the following conditional expressions; 0.8<=γA'(C)/γB'(C)<=1.2, 0.8<=γA'(M)/γB'(M)<=1.2, 0.8<=γA'(Y)/γB'(Y)<=1.2, whereγA'(Y) andγB'(C) and the like are the yellow gradation obtained by the development processing A' and the cyan gradation obtained by the development processing B' and the like. The development processings A' and B' are executed for color developing times of 3min-3min 15sec and 50-70sec, respectively, and at a color developing temperature of 37-39 deg.C and 43-47 deg.C, respectively, by using the color developing solution containing 2-methyl-4-[N-ethyl-N-(β-hydroxyethyl)- amino] aniline as a color developing agent in an amount of 15-20mmol/l and 35-40mmol/l, respectively, and not any silver halide solvent represented by the formula.
