PURPOSE: To provide a combustion furnace, preventing clinker from adhering to a burner tile unit, ensuring the retaining of combustion flame and preventing the generation of faulty combustion or the deterioration of durability of a furnace, by a method wherein the temperature rise of the burner tile is restrained by reducing radiation heat from flame while air is sent to the burner tile. CONSTITUTION: In a combustion furnace, equipped with a burner tile 3 around a burner for fuel combustion so as to be extended from the center of the burner 1 with an opening angleα, combustion air is conducted to flow through a combustion air outflow port 2, provided in parallel to the burner 1, while a part of combustion air is conducted to flow along the wall surface of the burner tile 3 and a flame retainer 4, having the retaining function of flame, is mounted to restrain the increasing temperature of the burner tile 3 to a high temperature and prevent the production of clinker.
