The sound absorption cover (8) for the air entry into a building is located outside or inside a ventilator against a mortise (14) in the door or window frame. The cover wall (15) facing the mortise is covered with an absorbent foam (16) whose variable width decreases from the middle of the air intake to the lateral open ends (10-10'). The foam shape is that of a circumflex whose two webs (17-17') have the largest curvature possible compatible with the depth of the cover. The foam is divided into two so as to progressively control the flow of air leaving the mortise. The divided air flow is subjected to acoustic attenuation by its passage along the curvature of a double venturi (18-18') inside the cover.
