PURPOSE: To provide a method and an apparatus for controlling an inverter which can enhance application efficiency of a DC power supply with a simplified means which does not require phase information of an output voltage. CONSTITUTION: In an inverter for converting a DC power into a 3-phase AC power, offset is added to a voltage command of each phase so that a sum of the maximum value and minimum value in the voltage commands of three phases becomes equal to 0V or zero voltage command value (a command value corresponding to 1/2 of the DC voltage). A control device comprises a maximum value detecting function (MAX detecting function) 2 to detect the maximum value of each voltage command of three phases, a minimum value detecting function (MIN detecting function) 3 for detecting the minimum value of each voltage command of three phases, an adding function 4 to add an output of the maximum value detecting function 2 and an output of the minimum value detecting function 3, a dividing function 5 to divide the added result of the adding function to 1/2 and three computing functions 6, 7, 8 for voltage command compensation to subtract or add an output of the dividing function 5 from or to each voltage command of three phases. |
