PURPOSE: To provide a user interface easily understandable and utilizable for a user by displaying moving pictures for inserting a video signal recording medium provided with identification information to a video signal reproducing device displayed in a display means when one piece of the identification information is indicated by an indicating means. CONSTITUTION: This picture display device is provided in a client computer 2 and is provided with a monitoring device 1, a wireless mouse 31 for indicating a position inside the screen, that is a display 20, and a processing part 41 which is a control means for performing control so as to display the pictures of the contents of the video signal recording medium on the monitoring device 1. When the pictures of the video signal recording medium displayed on the monitor 1 which is the display means is indicated by the mouse 31, the identification information of all the recording media is displayed. Then, when one piece of the identification information is indicated by the mouse 31, after an operation for inserting the video signal recording medium provided with the identification information to the video signal reproducing device displayed on the monitor 1 is displayed, the contents of the video signal recording medium are displayed. |
