PURPOSE: To provide the ceramic heater which exhibits excellent durability even when it is used for high temperatures such as heater for heating an oxygen sensor and the like. CONSTITUTION: An exothermic resistor 20 composed of a 50 to 95% metallic component by volume, and of a remaining ceramic component, is embedded in a ceramic body 10, and the cross section of an exothermic part 21 is so designed as to be equal to or more than 10μm in thickness in a part occupying the area equal to or more than 50% of the wire width. As a result, the progress of oxidization for the exothermic resistor is delayed, and its life can thereby be lengthened. |
