PURPOSE: To effectively prevent the state of inverse-in-phase combination and to improve the reliability of a receiver. CONSTITUTION: An individual signal detection part individually detects respective signal levels Va and Vb of two input signals IFM and IFS, and a synthesizing signal detection part detects a signal level Vc of a signal synthesizing two inputs. When two input signals are in-phase, a signal level (Va+Vb) simply adding their signal levels Va and Vb is equal with the signal level Vc of the synthesized signal. When those input signals are deviated from the in-phase, however, the synthesized signal receives inter-signal interference and as a result, the relation of (Va+Vb)>Vc is provided. The difference has tendency to be reduced when the phase difference between two input signals is small, to be increased when the phase difference is increased, and to be made maximum when the phases are inverted. Then, an inverse in-phase discriminating part compares the sum signal (Va+Vb) of detected signals with the detected signal Vc and when difference|(Va+Vb)-Vc|is larger than a prescribed value, it is discriminated that two input signals are in the relation of inverse-in-phase.
