METHOD FOR TREATING ROSIN AND DERIVATIVES THEREOF

FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: claimed invention describes method for treating rosin and derivatives thereof which comprises heating initial product in the presence of clarifying agent such as sulfur-containing alkylphenolformaldehyde compound. Said sulfur-containing alkylphenolformaldehyde compound is alkyldisulfidephenolformaldehyde maleic of fumaric acid diester, and heating is carried out with acid clarifying agent used in amount of 0.04-0.25% by weight of initial product at temperatures form 180 to 220 C. The claimed method makes it possible to treat thallic and gum rosin and derivatives thereof and to obtain clarified product having high acid number and to attain high yield. EFFECT: more efficient treatment method.
