PURPOSE: To obtain a part mounting machine which is shortened in part mounting time and size by a method wherein a recognition means which recognizes a part chucked and transferred is movable. CONSTITUTION: When an instruction to mount an electronic part 20 on a printed board 21 is given, an XY robot 14a is driven to move a head 14b to an electronic part supply station 11. A suction nozzle 141b is made to descend, vacuum- chucks an electronic part 20, and made to ascend. Then, the relative position of a recognition unit 12b to the head 14b, that is, the relative position of an image sensing means provided to the recognition unit 12b to the electronic part 20 attracted to the suction nozzle 141b is computed. Then, the XY robot 14a is driven to move the head 14b to the position of the recognition unit 12b. The suction nozzle 141b descends to mount the electronic part 20 on a printed board 21, a suction means is stopped to release the electronic part 20 from the suction nozzle 141b, and then the suction nozzle 141b is made to ascend. |
