PURPOSE: To stop the operation of only a defective inverter and continuously operate the other normal inverters. CONSTITUTION: A DC voltage is converted to an AC voltage by alternately turning on and off a couple of switching elements 11, 12 connected in series to respectively output the AC power. Each time when the switching element is turned on and off, the capacitor 16 is charged with a surge energy and this charge is transferred to a capacitor 18. When a charging voltage of the capacitor 18 exceeds a DC voltage, a charging current flows into a capacitor C19 and charges generated by the surge energy are collected in the capacitor 19 and is then recovered in the DC power supply side by the power recovery circuits 20 to 22. If an inverter fails and stops operation, when a DC voltage changes due to the continuous operation of the other normal inverters, the capacitor 19 of the defective inverter is charged but since the charges are recovered to the DC power source side with the power recovery circuit of the other normal inverters via the connecting line 31, over-voltage can be prevented. |
