PURPOSE: To realize miniaturization and lighting in weight and to obtain high reliability by providing a light absorption part for removing unnecessary light which does not contribute to the operation characteristic of an optical equipment provided with light deflecting parts. CONSTITUTION: A light beam L1 entering an optical disk 16 is restricted by the aperture 12a of a holder 12, so that it contributes to the recording/ reproducing of a signal on/from the optical disk 16, but the light outside the light beam L1 becomes the unnecessary light. As to a light beam L2 for controlling emitted light emitted backward from a semiconductor laser 14c; its lower part enters a photodetector 14g and is utilized, but its upper part becomes the unnecessary light. When the unnecessary light directly or indirectly enters 1st and 2nd photodetectors 14e and 14f, the operation characteristic of an optical pickup 10 becomes unstable to cause malfunction if the worst comes to the worst. However, the unnecessary light is absorbed by the light absorption part 17c on the inner surface of a cover 17 being a light deflecting part so as to be removed. |
