PURPOSE: To provide a lens controller capable of keeping a focusing state in the midst of zooming operating even when a focusing position is not present within the locus of a cam which is stored. CONSTITUTION: This lens controller is provided with a variable power lens 102, a focusing lens 105 for correcting the movement of a focal plane in the case of moving the variable power lens, a memory in an AF microcomputer 116 where the focusing position of the focusing lens with respect to the position of the variable power lens group is stored responding to a subject distance, and the AF microcomputer 116 obtaining the moving speed of the focusing lens for correcting the focal plane at the time of moving the variable power lens, based on the locus of the cam stored in the memory, and operating the moving speed of the focusing lens for correcting the focal plane at the movement of the variable power lens, based on the locus of the cam stored in the memory, in the case the focusing position of the focusing lens exists out of a moving range where the focusing of the focusing lens is possible stored in the memory. |
