FIELD: refrigerating engineering; condenser or evaporator of refrigerating machine. SUBSTANCE: heat exchanger has hermetic shell 1 where coil 2 is arranged. Turns of coil 2 are formed by parallel rectilinear sections lying in one plane and interconnected by means of return bends 4. First and last (in way of motion of tube space medium) rectilinear sections 3 of coil 2 are connected respectively to inlet branch pipe 5 and outlet branch pipe 6. Coil 2 is arranged in housing in such way that it tightly fays to two opposite walls of shell 1 over entire length of rectilinear sections 3 and return bends 4 connecting them; coil 2 is mounted in spaced relation to remaining walls of shell. Baffle plates 7 are mounted between rectilinear sections 3 of coil 2 in spaced relation to them with their side edges tightly adjoining the walls of shell 1. Coil 2 and baffle plates 7 form two coil-type passages in shell 1 for flow of inter-tube medium; each passage is brought in communication with inlet branch pipe 8 and outlet branch pipe 9 for this medium. EFFECT: enhanced heat transfer coefficient and simplified construction.
