PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the video server in which simultaneous transmission of many video signals is attained on the demand rate, the disk band is effectively utilized and a short time response is attained against a video transmission demand. SOLUTION: The method to extract video information from a video server(BS) 10 by using a disk striping is attained by making the amount extracted per round based on the capacity of a RAM buffer memory and the number of disks in the server BS. Thus, simultaneous extraction of many video streams is supported by using the BS. The extracting method of striped video data has a step to extract a prescribed number of bits from plural disks in the BS, a step storing the prescribed number of bits in a buffer memory, and the number of extracted and stored bits is calculated based on the number of the disks and the capacity of the buffer memory. The steps form one-round of a video extraction process and it is repeated till all video information is extracted and sent to an desired receiver. |
