<p>PURPOSE: To remove an external cylinder from a battery and easily separate its contents by cutting off both ends of the external cylinder of the battery and after that, cutting the external cylinder in parallel to the direction of its length to remove the external cylinder. CONSTITUTION: Both ends of an external cylinder 2 of a battery 1 are cut off in positions 5, 6 to remove end plates 3, 4. Next, a slit 7 is placed in the external cylinder 2 in parallel to the direction of its length to take out contents 8. In the case of a hydrogen battery, a layered product of a nickel hydroxide plate 9, an insulating plate 10 and a hydrogen absorbing alloy plate 11 is rolled in the contents 8, and the rolled contents 8 is spread to separate only the hydrogen absorbing alloy plate 11.</p> |
