The proposed plug connector comprises a housing consisting of two housing halves (1, 2) whose end faces are to be joined together. Each housing half is provided with a series of contact chambers (3) each of which is provided with contact elements (7) and shorting jumpers (8). Each shorting jumper (8) of a contact chamber (3) is in contact via apertures (5, 6) with two contact elements (7) of the opposite housing half (2). The plug connector is provided with a device (20, 21) which ensures correct alignment of the two housing halves (1, 2) when joined.
