METHOD FOR SETTING TRANSMIT AND RECEIVE CHAINS OF CHANNELS FORMED BY A MOBILE RADIO SYSTEM BASE STATION

A method comprising a step (4) of calibrating an antenna base, followed by a step (5) of setting receive chains for each channel, wherein a first predetermined setting signal is synchronously transmitted over each receive chain, and an equalisation filter is computed for reversing the transfer functions for each receive chain; a step (6) of setting transmit chains for each channel, wherein a second predetermined setting signal is synchronously transmitted over each transmit chain, a portion of the transmit signal is taken from each channel prior to transmission to the antenna base and fed back into the receive chains, and an equalisation filter is computed for reversing the transfer functions for each transmit chain; and a step (7) of receiving signals from the antenna base via the equalisation filters previously computed for the receive chains, or transmitting signals from a multichannel transmitting/receiving device via the equalisation filters previously computed for the transmit chains. The method is useful for communication between mobile stations and a base station, in particular using a space division multiple access technique.
