A low-power driver stage (2) for a voltage-controlled power semiconductor switch (4) has four electronic switches (T1, ..., T4) with associated freewheeling diodes (D1, ..., D4) arranged in a bridge circuit (14). A positive and a negative no-load voltage source (8, 10) are arranged in a first diagonal (16) of the bridge and an inductive resistor (12) is arranged in a second diagonal (18) of the bridge. The point (20) at which both no-load voltage sources (8, 10) are interconnected forms a reference junction (22) and the point (24) at which both electronic switches (T3, T4) on the one hand and the inductive resistor (12) on the other hand are interconnected forms a control connection (26) of the driver stage (2). A low-power driver stage (2) for a voltage-controlled power semiconductor switch (4) is thus obtained.
