The connector piece consists of a horizontal plate (6) with integral strips (11) which connect with mating profiles. The strips are positioned at the sides of the plate. When assembled, one strip lies against an edge of the profile, which it connects, and the other strip engages with a folded over edge at the other side of the profile. The connector piece further incorporates vertical plates (9) with screw holes with which the connector is attached to the side of the profile. A sealing strip (13) is bonded to the connector.
