A tool carrier assembly, e.g. for a lathe, comprises a body 1 and a removable tool carrier 3 wherein axially extending keys 2 engage in slots 14. In one embodiment part of one slot consists of a spring 9, Fig. 2, biased dog 7 movable by member 8 which has an eccentric to secure the body and carrier together. The carrier holds tools by clamping screws 4 and is vertically adjustable on the body by an adjusting screw (12), Fig. 1 (not shown), having a knurled head 5. In a modification, Fig. 8, the body has only one fixed key 2, but has two circumferentially movable keys 19 and 20. These movable keys are mounted on separate arms which meet at a point where they are engaged by a cam operable by a handle 24, the cam moving the arms towards and away from one another to lock the carrier. |
