The washing device has four washing brushes (7, 7', 8, 8') rotating round vertical axes. They are connected by trolleys (3, 3', 4, 4') in pairs to two guides (2, 2') running crosswise. In their basic position, before washing the vehicle, they are held in front of it. Their trolleys are prestressed towards the middle. The first brush (7, 7') of each pair in its basic position is far enough away from the longitudinal centre plane that together with their trolley, they are only held by the pressure of the vehicle against them. The second brush of each pair overlaps the longitudinal centre plane.
