<p>A high voltage measuring device for measuring the voltage between two spaced-apart points has a poled optical fibre (7) extended between said points and subject to an electric field associated with said voltage. A control unit (15) has light emitting means, which transmits light into the fibre, and detecting means for receiving light transmitted through the fibre and for generating a signal (Sout) corresponding to a change in refractive index of the fibre caused by said electric field.</p> |
