The invention pertains to a process for electrophoretically coating a carrier substrate. In the proposed process, an unsintered porous carrier substrate is used. This is electrophoretically coated, with subsequent sintering. During the sintering process the carrier substrate and layer shrink together, thus preventing crack formation.
